Welcome to the Village of South Blooming Grove

The Board of Trustees of the Village of South Blooming Grove to ensure a smooth and orderly transition of services from the Town of Blooming Grove to the Village, as of June 1, 2007.  On said date, the Village must provide certain services to its residents, including the oversight and enforcement of all planning and zoning related functions.  It is the intent of the Board of Trustees of the Village of South Blooming Grove to appoint a Zoning Board of Appeals upon the adoption by the Village of it’s own Village zoning code.  However, while the Village of South Blooming Grove Zoning Commission progresses toward the formulation of the Village’s own zoning code, a governmental body must address any zoning, planning related issues that arise in the interim. The Village of South Blooming Grove Board of Trustees entered into a Inter-Municipal Agreement with the Town of Blooming Grove and all zoning, planning related matters in accordance with all aspects and authority granted to it in the New York State Village Law regarding the Zoning Board of Appeals will be heard by the Town of Blooming Grove's Zoning Board of Appeals located at the Town Hall on Horton Road and Route 94.  The Town of Blooming Grove Zoning Board of Appeals shall hear all related matter on behalf of the Village of South Blooming Grove until such time as the Village can properly staff it's own Zoning Board of Appeals.The Town of Blooming Grove Zoning Board of Appeals will hear all related matter relating to the Town of Blooming Grove's Zoning Code, and any Village Local Laws that supersede the Town Code, and shall continue to enforce said laws until the establishment and appointment of a Village of South Blooming Grove Zoning Board of Appeals.  Upon the establishment and appointment of a Village of South Blooming Grove Zoning Board of Appeals, the powers granted to the Town of Blooming Grove's Zoning Board of Appeals shall immediately cease.
